- The Role
We now have an opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer to join our core network team at The Cloud. Your role will involve performing day-to-day engineering and operations duties in the network platform and systems at The Cloud, working with the commercial priorities of the business.
The role includes maintaining and improving existing systems, the release and support of new implementations and also provision of an effective and efficient 3rd line support function.
Responsibilities of your role will include:
- Managing, upgrading and monitoring the core network and systems
- Managing the data centres infrastructures

- Troubleshooting and debugging issues quickly and efficiently

Technical experience:

The Cloud is seeking to recruit an experienced commercial executive who will report directly to the Group Chief Executive, taking responsibility for the development of the retail product and all associated business development initiatives to execute the Group strategy.
The successful candidate will have proven international credentials, outstanding senior management communication skills, a detailed understanding of the mobile industry and importantly the delivery of media and content over mobile devices.
Core Responsibilities:
This is a Pan European role requiring a person with proven international expertise – the role naturally involves a clear commitment to international travel and the pursuance of key international commercial relationships with Global / European vendors, customers, partners and service providers.
The successful candidate will have a strong commercial and marketing background with a detailed understanding of the media industry and the delivery of that media over mobile devices using standard Internet streaming technologies.
The role is hands on with a clear strategic responsibility complemented by the day to day cut and thrust of empowering and enabling the countries to execute strategy dependent on market circumstance
Retail Product Development
The mobile industry has thus far failed to capture the imagination of the mass market – failing to entice them to adopt mobile Internet given the complexity of connectivity, the poor user interface and the weak customer experience given networks are too slow to download images or materials in an acceptable timeframe.
The Cloud has a clearly defined strategy that uses WiFi as the medium to deliver a full audio video experience, over all devices, structured around free access through high footfall consumer public locations and the delivery of streamed media to differentiate The Cloud experience.
The CCO will take direct responsibility for the definition, implementation and execution of the retail product strategy and the development of the service experience and all associated distribution channels to drive market awareness and customer adoption.
Distribution Channels:
The Cloud delivers its services through both retail and wholesale channels with initiatives to develop new distribution channels through media, content and device centric distribution.
The management and development of these channels, to support the establishment of retail distribution country by country, is a fundamental requirement.
Customer Experience:
The Cloud relationship with its customers is critical to its success - responsibility for the customers end to end experience, internationally, on line and through a small dedicated or outsourced service centre, our overall strategy, communications, interfaces and the responsiveness of The Cloud to customer requirements is a core component of the group strategy and the responsibility of the CCO.
Output / Deliverables:
- Create and implement the overall marketing strategy in consultation with partners, and senior business management
- Establish a unique high quality and powerful brand identity in the marketplace.
